Dr. Fleig is part-time Associate Director of Biomedical Research at The Queen’s Medical Center, Honolulu, HI, and a veteran biomedical research scientist. She holds 10 patents or patent applications, has over 60 peer-reviewed publications in internationally prominent journals, and successfully attracted multi-million dollar research funding through the National Institutes of Health (NIH). She received her Biology and English Philology degree from the University of Konstanz, Germany, her doctorate in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine, her professorial degree in Zoology from the University of Goettingen, Germany, and her Executive Master of Business Administration from the University of Hawaii Shidler College of Business.

Dr. Penner, Director of the Center for Biomedical Research at The Queen's Medical Center, Honolulu, HI, is co- inventor of the patented technology that CyThera is developing. Over the past decade, his research has been awarded over $10 million in external research funds. He holds 11 patents or patent applications and has over 110 peer-reviewed publications with a strong representation in the journals of Nature, Science and Cell. His patents have attracted licensing deals with industry. He received his diploma in Biology and doctoral degree in Pharmacology from the University of Giessen, Germany, and his medical doctorate and professorial degree in Medicine from the University of Goettingen, Germany. He was awarded the Hermann and Lilly Schilling Foundation Professor for Medical Research between 1992 and 1997 and is a Trustee of the Roger Eckert Foundation.

Dr. Ruckle is President of Pacific Pharma Group, LLC. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He provides consultation services for the pharmaceutical and nutraceutical industry, including study design, product development strategy, and medical monitoring. His experience includes 18 years as an Investigator, having served primarily as the Investigator for over 350 clinical trials, mostly Phase I, and is a Certified Physician Investigator (CPI). Areas include Japanese "bridging" studies, First-Time-In-Humans, Biologics, microdose and ADME studies, and various clinical domains and special populations including diabetes, osteoporosis, healthy elderly, pediatrics, osteoarthritis, hypercholesterolemia, asthma, cognitive impairment, and hypertension. Prior to his current work, Dr. Ruckle served as the founding Medical Director at Northwest Kinetics in Tacoma, WA, 1995 to 2000 (later acquired by Charles River Labs and subsequently by Comprehensive Clinical Development), then led Phase I development at Radiant Research Honolulu from Aug 2000 until acquired by Covance in May 2006. He remained as Medical Director at Covance Honolulu to July 2008, then founded Pacific Pharma Group to provide consulting services. Also served as Medical Director, Early Development for Comprehensive Clinical Development in Tacoma WA from July 2011 to Aug 2013.
